FAQs
Koh Mak is a small and peaceful island, so getting around is easy and fun. Most visitors rent a bicycle, scooter, or golf cart to explore at their own pace. Walking is perfect for short distances and enjoying the local scenery. There are also local taxi services that can take you between beaches, resorts, and piers if you prefer not to drive.
You can reach Koh Mak by speedboat or ferry from Trat Province on the mainland. Boats depart from Laem Ngop Pier, Bang Bao Pier (Koh Chang), and Klong Yai Pier (Koh Kood). The trip takes about 45–60 minutes, depending on sea conditions. During high season, boats run several times a day, while in low season the schedule may be limited.
The best time to visit is between November and April, during the dry season, when the sea is calm and the weather is sunny. The green season (May to October) offers lush landscapes and fewer tourists—perfect for those who enjoy peace and quiet, though some boat services may be reduced.
